BCIG.ORG is the development of the original website for the British Cochlear Implant Group.It was developed by members of the BCIG, supported by the three major cochlear implant manufacturers, to provide a comprehensive, multi-media resource about cochlear implants.

It is widely used by professionals and by the public both in the U.K. and abroad.
Principally, the manufacturers have financed it with some additional support from the BCIG and some Cochlear Implant Centres.

The website continues to develop to meet the requirement of an ever expanding audience.The first phase concentrated on giving information to the public. The second phase has looked at the needs of professionals, bringing in the use of advertisements.Advertising on the website has proved very successful in the recruitment of staff. The third phase will provide information for those involved in the funding of cochlear implants.

BCIG.ORG can serve very different needs and hopefully will now start to generate income for the BCIG.

It is an asset to the British Cochlear Implant Group.

Cochlear Implants International is a new journal, published biannually,
aimed at all those involved with cochlear implants: surgery, pre- and
post-operative care, research or manufacture of the implants themselves. The
journal will provide a forum for the exchange of the most recent and
relevant information and ideas concerning cochlear implants. Work from all
the disciplines associated with cochlear implants is welcomed.

This new interdisciplinary journal will be of interest to audiologists,
audiological physicians, speech and language therapists, otolaryngologists,
nurses, neuro-otologists, teachers of the deaf, hearing therapists, cochlear
implant manufacturers and others involved with hearing impaired and deaf
individuals.

Cochlear Implants International is the official journal of the British
Cochlear Implant Group. Members of BCIG will receive the journal as part of
